Ethical and practical considerations for including marginalised groups in quantitative survey research

This paper considers the ethical and practical issues of recruiting for, administering a quantitative survey with marginalised populations. These were identified through focus group discussion, which consolidated expanded upon informal conversations held previously by five researchers about their experiences conducting face-to-face (using predominantly questions) people who used amphetamine type substances in North East England, UK. Inductive deductive thematic analysis discussion led to generation three key themes: researcher positionality, emotions, role dilemmas; study design; ethics practice. therefore aims extend literature explores involved studies It makes methodological suggestions for how work across range disciplines could make research, future populations, more inclusive both participants researchers.
